Please see below the ledge drilling and blasting schedule for the week of 4/20/20.

Monday 4/20/20:

• Holiday – No drilling or blasting activities to occur.

Tuesday 4/21/20:

• Drilling activities to commence.
• Rock profiling exercise to commence.

Wednesday 4/22/20:

• Drilling activities to continue.
• Rock profiling exercise to continue

Thursday 4/23/20:

• Drilling activities to continue.

Friday 4/24/20:

• Drilling activities to continue.
• Two Blast Events Scheduled:
  • First Blast to occur between 10AM-12PM
  • Second Blast to occur between 12PM-2PM

On all scheduled blast days a representative from the Marblehead Fire Department will be onsite for the blast event(s).

Please note the blasting signals have been posted on the project site fence at Gates A, B & C.  The signals required to be used are as follows:

1. WARNING SIGNAL:           Three long whistles five minutes prior to blast signal.
2. BLAST SIGNAL:                  Two whistles one minute prior to the shot/blast.

 BLAST OCCURS

3. ALL CLEAR SIGNAL:          A prolonged whistle following the inspection of the blast area.   

PLEASE NOTE THIS SCHEDULE IS TENTATIVE AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE DUE TO THE LEDGE/ROCK CHARACTERISTICS AND DENSITY.

Please see below project update for the Elbridge Gerry Elementary School:

• Selective demolition of the Upper Bell exterior wall systems are in progress was completed the week of 4/6/20. 
• Demolition and removal of the Upper Bell foundation systems are in progress and is scheduled to be completed the week of 4/13/20. 
• Site contractor to moblize equipment the week of 4/13/20.
• Ledge/Rock Profiling activity with the site enable and blasting contractor is scheduled to commence the week of 4/13/20.
• Drilling rock areas to support the first "test" blast is to commence the week of 4/21/20.
• Line drilling of weathered rock areas to commence the week of 4/21/20.
• The first "test" ledge blasting activity is tentatively scheduled for Friday 4/24/20.  This date is tentative until the drilling activities commence to understand the density of the rock onsite.   
• Project team will post weekly drilling & blasting look ahead schedules outlining both activities for that particular week.    

Please see below project update for the Elbridge Gerry Elementary School:

• Demolition and removal of the Lower Bell building was completed the week of 3/16/20. 
• Interior Abatement activities for the Upper Bell building completed the week of 3/16/20.
• Abatement and removal of the Upper Bell roof is in progress and will complete the week of 3/23/20.
• Selective demolition of the Upper Bell exterior wall systems are in progress and will continue through the week of 4/6/20. 
• Demolition and removal of the Upper Bell foundation systems are scheduled to commence the week of 4/6/20. 
• Balance of the scheduled tree removal to be completed the week of 3/30/20.
• First round of pre-blast inspection notices have been sent via certified mail on Tuesday 3/24/20.  Notices have been sent to property owners within the state required circumferance and all direct abutters to the project site. 
• Mobilization of the Site Enable contractor to commence the week of 4/6/20.
• Ledge/Rock Profiling activity to commence the week of 4/13/20.

Please see below project update for the Elbridge Gerry Elementary School:

• Erosion Control measures have been completed onsite as required.
• Temporary Pest & Rodent Control measures have been installed onsite.  
• Existing items identified to be salvaged and saved have been transported and delivered to the designaged area within Town.
• Demolition of the Lower Bell building commenced as scheduled the week of 3/2/20.  Demolition is to continue through the week of 3/16/20. 
• Interior Abatement activities for the Upper Bell building are to continue through the week of 3/16/20.
• Abatement and removal of the Upper Bell roof commenced the week of 3/9/20 and will continue through the week of 3/16/20.
• Selective demolition of the Upper Bell exterior wall systems are scheduled to commence the week of 3/23/20.
• Disconnect of the main electrical feed to the Upper Bell building was completed by Marblehead light on 3/9/20.  All existing utility poles on site scheduled to removed was completed by Marblehead Light at this time.

• Construction office trailers arrived onsite week of 2/24/20.  Trailer set-up and hook-up of utilities (Electrical, Water and Sewer) are on-going through the weeks of 3/2/20 and 3/9/20. 
• Site Perimeter Construction fence & scrim is complete along Baldwin Road and construction entrances.  Perimeter fence inside of the project site is on-going the week of 3/2/20.
• Erosion Control measures are in-progress and will be on-going the week of 3/2/20.
• Temporary Pest & Rodent Control measures to be installed the week of 3/2/20.  
• Existing items identified to be salvaged and saved have been collected onsite.  Project team will coordinate with the Town of Marblehead for transport and delivery of salvage items to designaged area the week of 3/9/20.
• Abatement activites for the Lower Bell building was completed week of 2/24/20.
• Disconnect of the main electrical feed to the Lower Bell building has been completed by Marblehead Light.
• Demolition of the Lower Bell building is scheduled to commence the week of 3/2/20.
• Abatement activities for the Upper Bell building are on-going through the weeks of 3/2/20 and 3/9/20.
• Abatement and removal of the Upper Bell roof is scheduled to commence the week of 3/9/20
• Disconnect of the main electrical feed to the Upper Bell building is scheduled for the week of 3/9/20 by Marblehead Light.
