This will be the final update for the Lucretia & Joseph Brown Elementary School Project.  On behalf of Gilbane Building Company and the entire project team, we would like to thank all the neighbors, both direct abutters and indirect abutters, for their patience during the construction of the new elementary school.

The project will be working on the site this Saturday 10/16/2021. Activities will consist of the following: 

• Landscaping contractor will be installing stone materials along the bottom of the stormwater basin adjacent to the Baldwin Road.  This crew will also be addressing punchlist items on the site.
• Window shade contractor will be installing the shades in the gymnasium. 
• Painting contractor will be completing their punchlist items.
• A crew of laborers will be removing the roof and fall protection materials located on the canopy roof adjacent to the exterior mosaic.

This weekend work schedule has been communicated and coordinated with both the Marblehead Building Department & Police Department.

The project will be working on the site this Saturday 10/9/2021. Activities will consist of the following: 

• Painting contractor will be painting stair #2 and working on punchlist items. 
• Window shade contractor will be installing the shades in the gymnasium. 
• The site contractor will be milling a portion of the parking lot to address a punchlist item. 
• Ceiling contractor will be completing their punchlist items.

This weekend work schedule has been communicated and coordinated with both the Marblehead Building Department & Police Department.

Please see below project update for the Marblehead Elementary School: 

• The are numerous contractors working in the building to complete their punchlist items.
• The window shade contractor is continuing installation of the window shades in the gymnasium.
• Final cleaning activities will continue in the cafeteria and gymnasium spaces in Areas B & C.   
• Commissioning effort of the Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection and Plumbing (MEP) shall continue through this week.  
• Installation of chain link fencing, gates and wheels at the dumpster pad and North elevation of the site shall be completed this week.
• Spreading top soil at the atheltic field on the North elevation shall be completed this week.  The delivery of sod materials for this area is tentatively scheduled for delivery on Thursday 10/7 with installation to commence upon receipt of materials.  The weather forecast scheduled for Monday 10/4 and Tuesday 10/5 required this work to be rescheduled.   
• Site contractor is scheduled to complete the pavement striping and site punchlist items this week.  
• Removal of the temporary construction fence at the perimeter of the project site shall commence on Monday 10/4 and be complete on Tuesday 10/5. 

The project will be working on the site this Saturday 10/2/2021. Activiteis will consist of the following: 

• Millwork contractor will be working on punchlist items and clean up.   
• Painting contractor will be painting stair #3 and working on punchlist items. 
• Landscape contractor will be installing exterior bollards.
• Window shade contractor will be installing the shades in the gynasium. 
• The site contractor will be stripping of street sidewalk crossings. 
• Waterproofing contractor will be working on punch list items and caulking of exterior sidewalks.
• The mechanical contractor will be continuing balancing activities. 

This weekend work schedule has been communicated and coordinated with both the Marblehead Building Department & Police Department.

Please see below project update for the Marblehead Elementary School: 

• The painting contractor is continuing with final paint & punchlist activities on the first levels of Area B & C.
• The millwork contractor is completing millwork base details at the ELS spaces and continuing with punchlist activites.
• The tile contractor is receiving and commencing the installation of the terrazzo stair treads on Stair #2
• Final cleaning activities will continue in the cafeteria and gymnasium spaces in Areas B & C.   
• Water balancing activities will be complete this week for the building.
• Commissioning effort of the Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection and Plumbing (MEP) shall commence on Monday 9/27 and continue through this week.  
• Installation of chain link fencing at the Pre-K playground area located on the South elevation of the building shall commence on Monday 9/27 and complete their remaining items at the dumpster pad and North elevation of the site.
• Irrigation installation is continuing on the North side of the project site. Spreading top soil at this location is concurrent with the irrigation activity.  The delivery of sod materials for this area is tentatively scheduled for delivery on Wednesday 9/27.
• The site contractor is currently scheduling their line striping contractor to commence work in the roadway and parking lot of the project.  This work may tentatively be completed this week over a two day period.
